CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — No parent wants to hear their child has been bullied at school, and a local motorcycle group is taking a stand against this issue.

Bryan Gomez with the Calaveras Motorcycle Club said many lives can be affected by bullying.

Gomez was made aware of a recent incident at Martin Middle School and said enough was enough.

A local student claims he’s been bullied at the school, so Gomez along with about 40 other bikers went to the campus and waited for the student and escorted him home safely.

“For me, these parents here — the kids that are getting bullied — these parents are on their own,” he said. “They got their mom and their dad, some of them are single parents, some just have their mom or their dad. They’re fighting this alone. My organization has over 1,000 members, so you know what my message to the district: If you don’t want 80 bikes sitting in the front of your school every Friday or every day, then you guys need to do something about it.”

The group said its questions about protecting students from bullying were not answered by school administration.

They also encourage other parents to help raise awareness.

Our Action 10 News team did reach out to school administration along with the Corpus Christi Independent School District.

We have not heard a response.
